    Corporal Aran Rushe, a 26-year-old Army medic from Portstewart, Co Londonderry, braved a hail of Taliban bullets to help save an 8 year old girl who had been shot by insurgents. The incident happened when Royal Irish Regiment troops came under attack from the Taliban when they were  helping a local farmer move his trailer.  Read more…

  2. New Army helmet saves 3 soldiers’ lives

    Ranger Silbert Wilson, 20, Corporal Tommy Creighton, 25, and Ranger Alan Hawthorne, 23, all escaped injury when Taliban bullets hit their ‘Mark 7′ combat helmets during operations in Helmand province in Afghanistan.
